Originally by: Cutter Isaacson I want to preface my post with a small explanation. I have been playing EVE for 6 years, the game and the community are a large part of my life, one I do not want to see hammered into the ground. I have made good friends, and great friends and most if not all of them hold a place in my heart. I stood alongside many of you in Jita, I posted in the threadnaught to make my singular voice heard amongst the masses and yes I trolled as well, I feel every bit as strongly as the rest of you.
And this is where we seem to part ways. The rage in the beginning was justified, the depth of passion which many of us have for this game and the people who play it is admirable and even heart warming, we stood up for what we felt was right, for our rights as consumers and as part of a family. Enemies in game stood side-by-side, with a common goal not often seen here, demanding that we be heard and by god it was great, we were great.
But now, now I feel a growing sadness. While most of us remain as passionate as ever, some of us have realised that our rage needs to be collected, applied properly and aimed at the right places and yet I fear that we are becoming a minority, while the rest of you continue unabated with your wandering, aimless anger. The continuing protests only harm us, the family; by disrupting trade, missions and ordinary EVE life. People are becoming increasingly angry over the smallest of things, allowing them to become distracted from the original cause of the discontent, the family is fracturing as we argue amongst ourselves over trivial and pointless things, when we should be banding together and behaving in the way we have always prided ourselves on.
This community once left me in awe, it is what drew me here and has kept me here for 6 years of my life and now I am left in shock. To all those players who are using this situation to boost your own ego's, to the pirates calling for fake protests only to provide them with targets and to those still carrying out the Jita and Amarr protests I ask you please, stop. Remember what it is about this place and these people that keep you here and realise that unless the self destructive behaviour stops, unless we act together for our own betterment, then this place with all its benefits will cease to be. No more ego stroking faction kills, no more sense of victory when your blob beats the other blob, no more adrenalin rush when your untanked pathetic ship escapes that gate camp. Stop the bickering, stop letting yourselves be side tracked and stop the foolishness, otherwise we will ALL pay the price.
I for one do not want to see this place die, I do not want this family disband to be replaced by kids with credit cards.
Posting with my main.
Good to see that EVE radio still attracts common sense. Hows it going Cutter and I agree, rage needs to stop.
